The Beach is our three-bedroom holiday caravan at New Beach Holiday Park in Dymchurch, on the Kent coast at the edge of Romney Marsh. It sleeps up to six, and it comes with the largest decking on the site — glass-panelled, stacked with outdoor furniture, and lovely at sunset.
Inside, the lounge and kitchen share one open, sociable space. The L-shaped seating pulls everyone together for film nights on the 55″ curved Smart TV — Netflix, BBC iPlayer, YouTube and Amazon Prime are pre-installed — and the surround sound works inside and out, so your playlist can follow you onto the deck. High-speed unlimited wifi runs throughout, comfortably up to streaming, video calls and the odd bit of remote work.
The kitchen has everything we use ourselves: hob, oven, microwave, kettle, toaster and fridge-freezer, with pans, utensils and full crockery and cutlery for six. The bench dining table handles family dinners and jigsaw marathons equally well.
There are two twin bedrooms, a master double and one and a half bathrooms. Beds are made up before you arrive, with pillows and duvets, and we leave one set of bath towels per guest — bring your own towels for the beach and pool. Books and family games live in the lounge for slow evenings.
Everything practical is taken care of. Gas central heating and hot water on demand are included in the booking, entry is keyless — we send a unique door code the day before you arrive — and parking on the park is free, one of the few places locally where it is. Check-in is from 4pm; check-out by 10am.
The caravan sits just behind the Entertainment Venue, a short walk from everything on the park, and Dymchurch’s long sandy beach is about five minutes on foot from the park entrance. If anything isn’t right during your stay, tell us straight away — we’d much rather know straight away than read about it after you’ve left.
